About JGMTechSupport-CRM

The crawler you found in your access log. Last updated: 11th September 2026

In a hurry? To make it stop, add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: JGMTechSupport-CRM
Disallow: /

It will not come back. You don’t need my agreement, and you don’t need to email me first — but you can, at privacy@jgmtechsupport.co.uk.

What this is

I am Josh Matthewson, and I run JGM Tech Support, a one-person IT-support business in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. JGMTechSupport-CRM is my own software. I use it to find local companies that might need IT support, so that I can introduce myself to the ones that look like a fit. If it visited your site, that is why: I was working out what your company does.

What it fetched, and why

Up to six pages of your public website — typically the home page and whichever of an about, contact, team, services or privacy page exists. It reads the text of those pages to understand what the company does and whether it is the sort of business I could help.

It does not log in, fill in or submit any form, follow links off your domain, or touch anything a visitor could not read without an account. It requests pages; it does nothing else.

How often, and how gently

Once per company, not on a schedule — a handful of requests in one short visit, about two seconds apart, one at a time. It gives up on a slow page after ten seconds and stops reading a very large one at about 2 MB. It reads your robots.txt first and honours it.

How to make it stop

Either of these works, and neither needs my agreement:

What I keep, and for how long

In short: the text of the pages it read, for 90 days; your company’s business contact details while I am considering whether to get in touch; and anything that names a person — a director from the Companies House public register, or a name and work email your site publishes — deleted or anonymised within months if I never contact you. I do not keep dates of birth, home addresses, personal email addresses or anything from social media.

My privacy notice explains what I hold, the basis for using it, retention periods and criteria, and your rights — including the right to object, to ask for a copy, and to have it deleted.

How to reach a human

Me, at privacy@jgmtechsupport.co.uk. I read my own email and there is nobody else to pass you to. If this crawler has caused you a problem, I would rather hear about it than have you firewall me and wonder.
